This is a shooped photo from a Brawl hardcore tournament I hosted just before the end of the semester. We raised $33 for charity - there's a big old story behind it, but it involves a good friend of mine who suffers from a lot of congenital disfigurement being denied insurance for an important surgery. I'll tell it some other time.

But back to Brawl. CAN'T STOP THE R.O.B. The guy is the embodiment of old school, and man, does he represent well. The only guy I can't beat is an extremely skilled Fox player on my hall, and R.O.B.'s only real weakness is the Fox clones, a.k.a. space furries (my favorite disdainful remark when getting beaten down by Fox). I need to go buy a R.O.B... I've got Gyromite, but that was before I discovered eBay. Need to replenish some funds first. Then R.O.B.

Speaking of R.O.B., I should do my next Brawl sketch of him.

"Why won't you die?!"
"I'M FREAKIN' R.O.B.! I'M A LEGEND!"

"Gah! How'd you reflect -"
"I'M FREAKIN' R.O.B.!"

"Woah, what's hitting me...?!"
"HAVE SOME GYROOOOOOO"

And my personal favorite...
Out in public, I see a guy who lives on my dorm that I play Brawl with, put my fingers over my eyes to illustrate lasers being fired, and yell in high-pitched Kirby voice, "BEEEEEEEEE!" Gets 'em every time.

... Ah, Brawl... good times, good times.
