Behold, the Polar Star! It bears the mark of Polaris!

Not the best photo, I know, but I didn't make this thing for glamour shots... I made it to go PEW PEW PEW for con photos!

I probably spent around 30-40 hours on this... an awful lot for a silly little prop, but I really enjoyed myself working in the garage for hours at a time. All the frustration, all the joy, all the labor... Time well spent, methinks.

...I need to make some kind of holster for this thing. Certainly won't fit into any of my airsoft holsters. Might try some straps and buckles from an old backpack or something.

lol, it's cool - I used extruded polystyrene from Home Depot, like the kind you could use for insulation in between walls and stuff. I cut it with knives and hacksaws and sanded it down, but I just learned yesterday that it's possible to use hot wires or blades to "burn" your way through it to get really smooth curves and stuff. I'll give that a try next time.
